Day +1 Santiago de Compostela to Finisterre

I am officially at the end of the World :-) or at least that is what they used to believe hundreds of years ago  :-) So yesterday after receiving my official pilgrim papers I went to check in to my hotel. It wasn't the nicest hotel i had ever stayed in but at least it was right down town in a perfect location and i had an own room with shower and these days that's all it takes to make me happy :-) At 4 I met with the Al, Marty and Hans. It was so special - big hugs and plenty of emotions for me. After all, Hans was the first person who stopped me literally 2 min later I started my Camino in SJPDP and i thought it was great to finish my journey with these special man. We had some wine and tapas and took plenty of pictures. I was really touched when they told me that amongst the 3 of them they voted me the " most determined" person on the Camino. Which is a big thing from them as they are so chatty and met with 100s of pilgrims and especially that Hans has done this 4 times now. We just shared stories of the Camino (many of them included the same people wet along the way). I was telling them about Martin who saved my sleeping bag a few days ago turns out Al met with him a 2 days ago in Santiago while he started to talk to these bunch of pilgrims. Isn't this crazy? I'm glad to know Martin made it too. Around 6 we said goodbye and they promised to meet again hopefully in Hungary although Marty got me very excited about visiting him in January and drinking Mango Daiquiri in Hawaii so I told him maybe he will see me sooner than he thinks. lol Anyway I hope they can make it to Hungary all 3 were so special and played a major part in my Camino. After saying bye I arranged to meet with Szabina and Peti to go to mass together where they would read our names out but unfortunately as i fo7und out they only read the countries and since i already went to the 12 o clock mass i decided to go back to the hotel and enjoy my night, alone!

Today i woke up to an alarm! so strange. I hated it :-) I had a nice breakfast and went to the bus station to make my way to Finisterre. I really wanted to make it to the 9 o clock bus and luckily when i got there I bumped into Szabina and Peti again. While Peti and I took care of the bags Szabina got us seat ( great team work of the Huns :-) After 2.5 hours we were in Finisterre. On the way I kept thinking maybe I should have done this 100 km extra but actually i decided that everything was great as it was and to sit on a bus and do this under 3 hours which would have taken me 3 days was probably the best choice for me. Szabina and Peti already had reservations in a hotel but i didn't book anything. there were loads of albergues advertised and i decided with one for which a women kept saying its very very clean. while we were walking up towards the albergue we saw the Hungarian flag. Turns out there is a Hungarian albergue here in Finisterre. Quick decision to stay there for the night.in the afternoon i went for a walk and bumped into a bunch of people who i haven't seen in a while including the Canadian twins and this father and daughter whom i met the first night. it was crazy. loads of "well done" and "we did it" and happy faces. i went for food to this Italian place which was recommended by the twins and the food was delicious!! I bumped into Sabina and Peti again and had food together and greats chats. They are so cute and i was really happy that my first Hungarians were this 2 amazing, young and friendly people. The Hungarian lady from the albergue recommended this beach for us where we could collect shells. i thought there will be a few but when we got there i couldn't believe my eyes. Shells everywhere so i picked up a bunch for all of you to have something from the end of the world :-) The view was amazing and all of a sudden i felt that i haven't been this happy for a long time. i was calm and free. at 8 i went back to the albergue to pick up my staff which i was planning to burn. we walked out to the light house 3 km away on a top of a rock where there is nothing but the Ocean and watched the sunset with a bunch of pilgrims. some sang some played a pipe and all in all it was the perfect moment and my happy place forever. when the sun went down we all started to clap and scream. our journey was complete. but there was 1 last thing for me to do... so with the help of Sabina and Peti i tried to burn my socks, underwear, t-shirt and 2 pictures. however God had other plans for me.. i don't know what these clothes were made of but i could not burn them. not even the pictures were willing to catch on fire so after burning my fake nails and horrible smell i decided to give up :-) it was ok. all great. i realized that even though that was my 4th task to complete sometimes no matter how hard you try things don't work out the way you planned it and you need to know when to give up and say enough. i was there. i achieved everything and i knew that moment that I'll be fine!

Today last day in Santiago before going to the airport on Wednesday. I am so excited to hug everyone tell you all how much i love you and how grateful to have you in my life. This road was the best thing that ever happened to me but i am ready to go home and face any challenges. After all i know now i will never walk alone!

Love,

Viki
