Day 12 Burgos to Hontanas

2015.05.15 10:26

Yesterday i did 32 km. it was fine. no pain. the weather has changed it cooled down finally so it made my walk a lot easier. i left Burgos at 8.15 and i got to Hontanas at 3.it was a nice walk. in the  beginning i was walking with an American girl for the first 9 km. we had a good conversation on work and life. than we crossed this little bridge and i saw this lady pointing towards another direction instead where i was supposed to go and she kept saying its faster. so we started to talk in Spanish ( ha ha ha:-) ) than in the middle of my sentence she just said " Go now" i was like ok, conversation finito :-D so i walked in this new route and kept thinking about i hope she isnt part of a pilgrim kindnap group :-) but she did save me like 2 km i  the end. so i kept walking and 2 villages later i went into a little bar. the owner asked me where im from and when i told him i was Hungarian he got so excited he gave  me this little medal and told me how much he loves Hungarians. so i really feel like we may be a little country in Europe but everyone i had talked to so far had a nice story about Hungary or an old Hungarian friend. i am really proud to be Hungarian on this journey it feels like my fellow pilgrims had made a nice impression on the Camino :-) so i carried on. i bumped into Jackie and Matt and the last 9 km i walked with Matt.Than we finally arrived to Hontanas where i stoped at the first albergue.it was a great decision as it was new and very nice. i had dinner with the usual crew plus 3 Germans. and guess what i had for dinner: yep. fish. i mean the choice is not huge here. either pork or chicken or fish all with chips :-) i went to bed quite late 10.30 (pilgrim time:-) ). today tbe weather is cool again with only 27 km to do!

See ya later!

Love,

Viki
