Visiting the Russell's
I have arrived safe and sound to Bordeaux on Wednesday.Had like an hour sleep before my parents drove me to the airport. While i was going through security i noticed that the girl next to me was reading a book on El Camino. Turns out there were acually 3 other Hungarians travelling to SJPDP on that day too. small world :-)
It was a really long day as i only arrived to Bordeaux at 5.45 pm. i had to change airport from Buovais to Orly and i had like 7 hrs between the two flights. When i got to Bourdeaux Eva and Peter were already waiting for me. Peter and I work together and they had been kindly inviting me for years to come and visit them in their home in Aiugillon which is like 1.5 hr away from Bourdeaux. When we arrived to their house i was speechless. it is located on a top of a hill and its so beautiful, has an amazing view to the area and also a huge garden. Eva and Peter's love towards their garden is really paying back as i have never seen so many beautiful flowers before in my life. Maybe it was the view, nature or the amazing wine Peter had given me but suddenly i just felt happiness and since than i could not stop smiling. We had visited some amazing sites and villages, French market and beautiful historical places but my favourite was Rocamadour. If you are in the area it is a must see. it is a 1000 yrs old village literally built on a rock. its breathtaking site filled with so much history and legends. As soon as we climbed all the stairs and entered the holly village a strange, sacred feeling took me over. we walked all the way up and i think it was one of the most special places i had ever been. here is a link to it : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocamadour
in 2 villages i met with loads if camino pilgrims and i saw my first shell and suddenly i felt that im not scared anymore. i am just really happy and excited for the future now :-) Tonight is my last night before driving to SJPDP tomorrow than i start the journey on Sunday. The last 3 days with Eva and Peter has just filled me up with so much energy that i feel like i can do anything right now :-) tonight is my last night in a comfortable bed in a beautiful roon. alone. from tomorrow i'll be sleeping in my sleeping bag in an albergue with min 20 other people but its ok. the road is calling me and now finally i feel like i am ready! night night xxx
ps Thanks for all the calls, msg, viber texts in the past few days. i really feel loved :-D
